Day 1: Arrival and Evening Game Drive
Morning: Arrive at Mfuwe International Airport and transfer to Safari Explorers Camp. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy a welcome briefing about the camp and its surroundings.
Afternoon: Relax and have lunch at the camp, enjoying the stunning views of the Luangwa River or the watering hole nearby, where animals often come to drink.
Evening: Embark on your first game drive in the Nsefu Sector. This area is known for its high concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and leopards. Enjoy a sundowner in the bush before returning to camp for dinner.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive with Picnic Lunch
Early Morning: After an early breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive. This gives you a chance to explore deeper into the park and visit different habitats.
Midday: Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic location, by the riverbank where you can watch hippos and crocodiles.
Afternoon: Continue the game drive. Look out for the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe, elephants and large herds of buffalo. Return to camp as the sun sets.
Day 3: Local Village Visit
Morning: Early Breakfast and then Visit a local village to gain insight into the daily lives of the local communities. Participate in cultural activities and learn about conservation efforts that involve the communities.
Evening: Return to camp for lunch and rest.
Evening: Join a night game drive to spot nocturnal animals like the leopard, genet, and hyena.
Day 4: Birdwatching and Relaxation
Morning: Embark on a birdwatching excursion. The Luangwa Valley is a birder's paradise with over 400 bird species, including the colorful carmine bee-eaters and the rare Pel’s fishing owl.
Afternoon: Spend the day at leisure. Enjoy the camp's facilities, have a swim, or book a spa treatment. Alternatively, participate in a photography workshop if available.
Evening: Enjoy a special bush dinner under the stars
Day 5: Sunrise Game Drive and Departure
Early Morning: Take one last game drive at sunrise to soak in the tranquil beauty of the bush and catch a glimpse of wildlife starting their day.
Midday: Return to the camp for brunch and start packing.
Afternoon: Relax in the Camp
Evening: Take your last Sundown picnic and night game drive. Return to Camp for Dinner
Day 6: Morning: Depending on your flight out of Mfuwe, you will Checkout and transfer back to Mfuwe International Airport for your departure.
